Reflection Questions from the Speaker

1. How do you experience comfort in the passion of Christ?

2. How might you bring that comfort to others?

Jean is a founding member and past chair of the Board of Directors at Mater Dolorosa Retreat Center, Sierra Madre, California, and a former board member of the Office of Mission Effectiveness of Holy Cross Province. Since 2014, she has been part of the ministry team for women’s retreats. She holds a certification and advanced certification from the Catholic Bible Institute and Loyola Marymount University, and a BA in Religious Studies from Mount St. Mary’s University. She is in the process of pursuing a graduate degree in theology. Jean received a Spiritual Direction certification from the Sisters of St. Joseph at Loyola Marymount University in 2017. Jean is a trained post-abortion listener with By Your Side L.A., a program of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She believes this ministry is another place where Passionist spirituality intersects with suffering of today. Married to Pat Bowler almost 44 years and Jean has three grown sons and six grandchildren. Her favorite role is being a grandmother.
