"We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now..."

Romans 8:22 (NABRE)

”The universe is composed of subjects to be communed with, not objects to be exploited. Everything has its own voice. Thunder and lightning and stars and planets, flowers, birds, animals, trees, – all these have voices, and they constitute a community of existence that is profoundly related.

–  Fr. Thomas Berry, CP

Evening Thoughts: Reflections on Earth as a Living Community

Reflection Question

If “the whole creation is groaning,” where do we most clearly hear that cry today—in vulnerable bodies, damaged ecosystems, unequal healthcare systems, polluted water and soil, or the loneliness of dying—and what does Catholic bioethics ask of us in response?

He is fluent in six languages and has served in leadership, education, and pastoral outreach in a number of countries, including Italy, Haiti, and the United States.
