Remembrance of Veterans Day recalls stories of courage and sacrifice. As American troops liberated Schwarzenfeld, Germany in April 1945 from the Nazis, they were surprised to come face to face with American Passionist Father Koch who had lived in the town before and throughout World War II.

Novelist Katherine Koch describes their tense wartime encounter in The Sower of the Black Field (2024). (Available on Amazon and other book retailers.)

Join with Passionist historian Father Rob Carbonneau, C.P., and author Katherine Koch as they discuss how the Passionist spirituality of Jesus' suffering provided a path to justice and compassion in 1945 that still speaks to us in 2024.
