Remembrance of Veterans Day recalls stories of courage and sacrifice. As American troops liberated Schwarzenfeld, Germany in April 1945 from the Nazis, they were surprised to come face to face with American Passionist Father Koch who had lived in the town before and throughout World War II.

Novelist Katherine Koch describes their tense wartime encounter in The Sower of the Black Field (2024). (Available on Amazon and other book retailers.)

Join with Passionist historian Father Rob Carbonneau, C.P., and author Katherine Koch as they discuss how the Passionist spirituality of Jesus' suffering provided a path to justice and compassion in 1945 that still speaks to us in 2024.

    “Everything is interconnected.”

    Pope Francis, Laudato Si’, 38

What might a deeper sense of human kinship with
the natural world and all creatures look like for you?

Join the Passionist Family for a one and a half hour conversation on

Brochure #4 of Passion of the Earth, Wisdom of the Cross

We'll explore the interconnection of all of Creation, the Integral Ecology of Laudato Si, and how we can make a difference in the face of pollution, waste and our throwaway culture.

“PASSION OF THE EARTH, WISDOM OF THE CROSS" is our international Passionist program to live out our commitment to the Laudato Si’ Action Platform goals. In prayerfully considering each brochure in conversation together, we deepen our care for God’s Creation, embrace Gospel justice, and renew our Passionist charism.

    • Africa

The Passionist Earth and Spirit Center announces its annual African Journey scheduled for January 8-26, 2025.

Kenya and Tanzania are the Africa you've always dreamed of. This is the land of vast savannas, stirring landscapes, abundant wildlife, and snow-capped Kilimanjaro. Now there's an opportunity to visit and experience Africa, staying at Passionist retreat centers.

This 19-day African Journey offers the unique opportunity to combine breathtaking safaris to world class games parks with cultural immersion experiences. We will build relationships with grassroots community leaders committed to overcoming the heartbreaking poverty of the region.

We will foster a network of support and learn how to become responsible global citizens. Staying at Passionist retreat centers and with native Passionists as our hosts, the trip offers a rare opportunity for an inside view into this epic land and its ancient traditions. The African Journey is a remarkable opportunity to make your world bigger!

Reservations for the January 8-26, 2025, trip are now being taken. The cost of $3200 includes everything except international air travel, which each participant arranges and pays for on their own, flying into and out of Nairobi, Kenya. Space is limited to 18 participants.
